Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Kigali to Volcanoes National Park
Depart from Kigali and drive north through Rwanda’s scenic countryside towards Volcanoes National Park. As you approach the Virunga foothills, the landscape changes to steep cultivated slopes and dramatic volcanic peaks.
Continue to your accommodation near Volcanoes National Park, where you can relax and prepare for the following day’s gorilla trek. Your guide will brief you about the trekking programme, including the early morning start and what to expect during the trek. Meals and accommodation are provided according to the safari category selected in your confirmed quotation.

Day 2 – Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Return to Kigali
After an early breakfast, head to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in Kinigi for the gorilla trekking briefing. With experienced rangers and trackers, enter the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. Trekking time and terrain vary depending on the location of the gorillas, so a reasonable level of fitness and sturdy footwear are recommended.
After the trek, you may return to your accommodation for refreshments before beginning the journey back to Kigali. Depending on your departure time and travel plans, your guide can arrange suitable stops along the way. The safari ends in Kigali with a drop-off at your hotel, residence or the airport.
