Tanzania is a country with many tourist attractions. Approximately 38 percent of Tanzania's land area is set aside in protected areas for conservation. There are 17 national parks, 29 game reserves, 40 controlled conservation areas (including the Ngorongoro Conservation Area) and marine parks. Tanzania is also home to Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa.
The 16 national parks are home to a large variety of animal life. Among the large mammals include the Big five, cheetahs, wildebeest, giraffes, hippopotamuses and various antelopes. Tanzania's most well known wildlife attractions are located in the northern part of the country and include the Serengeti National Park, Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara National Park. The Serengeti National park encompasses the world-famous great migrations of animals. The Serengeti National Park is the most popular park in the country.
In 2018, Serengeti National Park was voted the best African Safari Park following the depth study conducted by Safari Bookings the largest online marketplace for African safaris.
The north is also home to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area includes the Ngorongoro Crater, which is an extinct volcanic caldera] with lions, hippopotamus, elephants, various types of antelope, the endangered black rhinoceros, and large herds of wildebeest and zebra, Olduvai Gorge, considered to be the seat of humanity after the discovery of the earliest known specimens of the human genus, Homo habilis as well as early hominidae, such as Paranthropus boisei also lies within the conservation area.
The western part of Tanzania includes the Mahale, Katavi, and Gombe national parks, the latter of which is the site of Jane Goodall's ongoing study, begun in 1960, of chimpanzee behaviour. The country is also particularly rich in plant diversity, the Tanzania National Parks Authority has an entire national park the Kitulo National Park dedicated to flowers. There is a wide variety of biomass across the nation.
Also known as the roof of Africa, Tanzania has the highest standing point in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The mountain (now a dormant volcano) rises approximately 4,877 metres (16,001 ft) from its base to 5,895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level. The mountain is located in the north of the country on the border with Kenya in the town of Moshi and is accessible via Kilimanjaro International Airport. The airport also provides a gateway for tourists to all northern safari circuits. The mountain is part of Kilimanjaro National Park and is the second most popular park in the country and roughly 80,000 visitors trek the mountain every year. The mountain is one of the most accessible high peaks in the world and has an average success rate of around 65%.
ITENERARIES
Tanzania is one of Africa’s top safari destinations. The wildlife viewing is out of this world and big cats are especially easy to see. All members of the Big Five can be found in various Tanzanian parks and reserves, and all five are present in the Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. DAY ONE: ARRIVAL
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro (JRO), you will meet your driver guide for your transfer to the hotel which will take less than one hour. Stay at leisure at Tulia lodge and Hotel in Arusha, then rest up for the next day’s adventure. After your arrival at the hotel, our representative person will assist you - you will have a short briefing about your safari for the next day and will get to know your safari guide.
DAY TWO: TRANSFER TO TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After morning breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, with picnic lunch provided. Have a game drive the rest of the day. The is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season. The Tarangire Ecosystem is defined by the long-distance migration of wildebeest and zebras. During the dry season, thousands of animals concentrate in the park from the surrounding wet-season dispersal and calving areas. The park is famous for its high density of elephants and baobab trees. Visitors to the park from June to November (dry season) can expect to see large herds of thousands of zebra, wildebeest, and cape buffalo. Other common resident animals include waterbuck, giraffe, dik-dik, impala, eland, Grant’s gazelle, vervet monkey, banded mongoose, and olive baboon.
DAY THREE: TRANSFER TO SERENGETI
Breakfast depart with packed lunch and drive to Serengeti for a game drive through the agricultural and the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, which is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park and features the Seronera River. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti NP. Continue towards the Serengeti, enjoying a lovely scenic drive with views of the Ngorongoro conservation area along the way you’ll pass through a traditional Maasai village where you’ll have the opportunity to experience the culture and lifestyle of its nomadic people. You’ll be welcomed by the Maasai.
DAY FOUR: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
You have a full day of excursions in the Serengeti today enjoying morning and afternoon game drives from the camp. The northern of the Serengeti, called Seronera, is a network of rivers that ensure dependable water supplies attracting wildlife throughout the year. It is here that you’ll have your best opportunity to spot the “Big Five”: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and the leopard.
There will be no shortage of animal sightings as the presence of permanent mud pools and shade attract giraffes, impalas, warthogs, and hippos. You might also catch a glimpse of cheetahs, hyenas, and jackals.
DAY FIVE AND SIX: NOTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
You have a full day of excursions in the Serengeti today enjoying morning and afternoon game drives from the camp. The north of the Serengeti Mara River today we will have a day game drive along this river of dearth for the migrant animals that come and tray or cross these rivers that ensure dependable water supplies attracting wildlife throughout the year. It is here that you’ll have your best opportunity to spot the “Big Five”: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino, and the leopard.

DAY SEVEN: TRANSFER TO NGORONGORO CRATER
Today you’ll get up close and personal with one of Unesco’s World Heritage Sites – the Ngorongoro conservation area. This unique multi-use site is one of the only in the world where man, livestock, and wildlife live together in harmony.
Your journey will continue with a visit to the Olduvai Gorge, known as the cradle of mankind. Considered to be one of the most important prehistoric sites in the world, the gorge is where Dr. Leakey discovered the world’s first humans in 1950.
The Crater is famous for Africa’s best game viewing as there is an ever-present abundance of wildlife due to the permanent water supply on the crater floor. You will descend 610 meters into the Crater where your safari truly begins. Spot the endangered black rhino, wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, Grant’s & Thomson’s gazelle & giant tusked elephants plus.
DAY EIGHT: DEPARTURE- KILIMANJARO AIRPORT
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. After breakfast and lunch, you may have time to do some shopping for a souvenir before you take your outbound flight.

This 5-day safari allows you to experience the highlights of the Northern Safari Circuit. You will experience breathtaking wildlife in the midst of some of the most diverse landscapes: lions, cheetah, leopard, elephants amongst acacias, and a huge variety of animals inside a collapsed volcano. You will also visit the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The landscapes are breathtaking and the variety and volume of wildlife you will see are unforgettable.
DAY ONE: ARRIVAL
On this day, you will depart from Arusha after breakfast for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes approximately two hours, but we'll pass through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu along the way. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a melting pot of local cultures and a souvenir hunter's paradise.
For either park, you will do a full-day game drive with packed lunch.
DAY TWO: TRANSFER TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast, depart towards the most famous National park in the World, the Serengeti. The driving itself, although long, is spectacular. This will be an unforgettable moment for anyone seeing it for the first time. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will see why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains". The park has 14,763 km sq. and for most of it, the plains will stretch to the horizon defying your senses and perception of distances. It is the home of the Great Migration and to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes. As for Big Cats and large predators, it's the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, with many television scenes like the famous river crossings having been filmed in this park.
DAY THREE: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
An optional hot air balloon safari can be added (not included in price) to to the tour any of the days in the Serengeti, providing a spectacular opportunity to view the game from the air.
Today you spend the whole day on a game drive in this national park, which is rich with all different species of animals. To maximize game viewing you will carry a picnic lunch with you and spend the full day in the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti is an eco-system on its own that explores the diverse landscape with ever-changing flora and fauna.
The principal features of the Serengeti are the short and long grass plains in the south and east, the acacia Savannah in the central areas, the hilly and densely wooded areas in the north, and the extensive woodland in the west. There is a variety of scenery, which include the plains, lakes, hills and the rock outcrops called kopjes. The main game drive areas in the Serengeti are the Seronera Valley, the western corridor, and northern Serengeti.
DAY FOUR: SERENGETI - TRANSFER TO NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, you will embark upon a final game drive in the Serengeti before traveling to the Ngorongoro Crater. Arriving at the edge of the crater in the afternoon, you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day – glistening streams, open grassland, and an infinite number of animals.
You will spend the night at a nearby lodge on the crater rim.
DAY FIVE: FULL DAY CRATER TOUR
We will start the day very early and descend into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife in one of the most stunning places on Earth. After the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo lake. After lunch, we will have time for a short game drive and then ascend the crater and exit Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Arusha. We expect to be back in Arusha around 6 pm although we are flexible in case there is a flight to catch or another situation.

The Great migration varies every year the best chance of seeing it is during June up to September while the wildebeest calving is from January to March for the July up to September our driver will be able to take to northern Serengeti where they be able to see the great wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River. A million and a half of these majestic animals’ travel throughout the year as they look for fresh grazing pasture and follow the rainfall for better water sources and after your full day game drive you head back to your accommodation for dinner and over night.
DAY FOUR: TRANSFER TO NGORONGORO FROM THE SERENGETI PLAINS

You will take your lunch during the journey and arrive in the afternoon. Enjoy an afternoon and evening boat drive in Selous. Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY TWO: SELOUS GAME RESERVE
After breakfast in the morning with your lunch boxes, enjoy a full-day game drive inside the game reserve. You'll have great animal sightings including all the great favorites lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and other major species like hunting dogs and birds. In the afternoon after your lunch, proceed with a game drive until evening.
DAY THREE: TRANSFER TO MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, you will drive to Mikumi National Park which takes 6-7 hours of driving. Whilst on safari, you will see a wide variety of bird species, zebras and elephants. Today you'll enjoy a picnic lunch during the day. Dinner and overnight.
DAY FOUR: MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast enjoy a full game drive in the park. You will also enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.
When you are in Mikumi, you will be able to see a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impalas, warthogs, eland antelopes, giraffes, buffalo and elephants.
DAY FIVE: TRANSFER TO DAR ES SALAAM
After an early breakfast, you will visit a small Maasai village for about 2 hours before starting driving back to Dar es Salaam for your overnight or airport.

10 DAYS SERENGETI – GORILLA TRACKING SAFARI
This Uganda safari trip starts from Arusha Tanzania and drives all the way into Serengeti, fly over to Entebbe, transfer to Bwindi where you’ll hike across the gorilla forest. From Bwindi, you’ll take a flight back home from Entebbe.
DAY ONE: ARRIVAL
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to your booked hotel.
DAY TWO: TRANSFER TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
On your first day on the African dirt, we can take the 4×4 photo safari drive into Ngorongoro, passing lazily through Lake Manyara to capture those morning shots of this colorful safari park. We spend a night in Ngorongoro Crater and half the next morning, then drive into Serengeti the following evening. Remember, this is a custom made photo safari. We can move things around to create a great trip.
Whichever route you choose, we’ll drive to the lodge in the central Serengeti, looking for lions, cheetahs, and leopards along the way.
DAY THREE: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Wake early and have breakfast. The first light out is always great for wildlife photography. We’ll take an early morning game drive, and with luck, maybe captures a lion hunt. But the real drama will be up north. The great herds of wildebeests and zebras will have started their annual journey to the Mara, and with the preditors following their meal. We’ll find the great photography spots and catch some action before the sun goes down on the golden savannah plains.
DAY FOUR: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Rise early for a morning game drive before driving to the northern Serengeti, and with luck, witness the dramatic river crossings of the wildebeest migration. Great herds of wildebeests and zebras eye predators warily as crocodile snouts break the Mara River’s surface. Stay at the luxury tented camp and on morning and afternoon game drives, take in the region’s spectacular array of wildlife. On our last evening, gather for a candlelit farewell dinner in the bush.
DAY FIVE: TRANSFER TO ENTEBBE
Rise early for a morning drive before you catch a quick flight to Entebbe International Airport. The flight from Serengeti to Ebb will take about two and a half hours. After check-in at our lodge in Entebbe, you’ll take a canoe ride on the massive Lake Victoria into the Mabamba swamps to find the most remarkable bird on the continent. The weird shoe-like beak on the shoebill stork makes you want to press that shutter into the camera. It is quite an image.
DAY SIX: TRANSFER TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK
After your breakfast, you’ll transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park which is located in south western Uganda, a seven hour drive from Kampala with a view of dramatic change in landscapes. Bwindi impenetrable national park is home to an estimated 589 mountain gorillas which is more than half the total number of mountain gorillas in the whole world.
DAY SEVEN: GORILLA TRACKING
After an early breakfast, a guide will drive you to the trailhead for briefing before you hit the jungles to find the mountain gorilla family that you have been assigned. Trekking through the jungle could take from 2 to 6 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas were last seen last evening. So make sure you are physically able to withstand the trek through uneven terrain, damp forest floors, and thick forest cover. When you meet the gorillas, you’re allowed only 60 minutes (gorilla trekking permit $700) or 4 hours (gorilla habituation experience $1,500), with the gentle giants and you’ll be escorted back. Back at camp as the night cools down, you have a roaring campfire and local songs to look forward to as well as a deep massage, perfect for soothing any aching muscles after a day of hiking.
DAY EIGHT: LAKE BUNYONYI
After morning breakfast transfer to lake Bunyonyi which is 2-hour drive from Bwindi impenetrable national park, it’s the deepest lake in Uganda and second in Africa after Lake Tanganyika, the deepest point being at 900m.
Dotted with 29 islands, surrounded by the green lushed terraces, it’s a perfect relaxation point after a tiresome gorilla tracking experience, take a boat cruise visiting the historical islands or visit the local bakiga people or the Batwa. Canoeing and swimming can also be done at the lake since its bilharzia free.
DAY NINE: TRANSFER TO KAMPALA
We set off early after our breakfast to Kampala for a 6 hour drive with lunch stopover at the Equator, Evening relax by lake Victoria.
DAY TEN: DEPARTURE
After morning breakfast, we drive to Entebbe international airport getting ready for flight back home.
