Uganda

Uganda safari guide: gorillas, chimpanzees, wildlife, birding, the Nile and cultural experiences.

Why choose Uganda for a safari?

Uganda brings primate trekking and classic wildlife into one country. Bwindi and Mgahinga are the centre of mountain gorilla trekking, Kibale is known for chimpanzees, and parks such as Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Kidepo Valley and Lake Mburo add savannah wildlife, boat cruises, landscapes and birding.

How many days do you need?

Three to five days works for a focused gorilla trip. Seven to ten days can combine gorillas with wildlife or chimpanzees. Around twelve to fifteen days gives enough time for a fuller circuit with Murchison Falls, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi, Lake Bunyonyi and Lake Mburo. Eastern and northern routes can also feature Jinja, Sipi Falls, Karamoja and Kidepo Valley.

Best experiences in Uganda

Mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, rhino tracking, game drives, Kazinga Channel and Nile boat cruises, birding, shoebill tracking, nature walks, hiking, cultural experiences and adventure activities can all be built into one trip.
