How Many Days Do You Need for a Uganda Safari?

Wide savannah landscape with distant mountains

Three to five days

This is best for one major focus, usually gorilla trekking, or a short gorilla and wildlife combination.

Seven to ten days

This range opens the door to gorillas, Queen Elizabeth National Park and either chimpanzees, Lake Mburo or Lake Bunyonyi depending on route.

Twelve days or more

Longer trips can add Murchison Falls, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi and Lake Mburo without making every day a transfer day. Eastern and northern Uganda, including Sipi, Karamoja and Kidepo, also become practical with more time.
