Accommodation and Meals
What to expect from safari lodges, camps, hotels and meals.
Choose comfort that matches your priorities
Safari accommodation ranges from simple guesthouses and budget lodges to comfortable mid-range properties and high-end luxury camps. Location matters as much as room style: a lodge close to the correct trekking sector or park gate can reduce early starts and unnecessary driving.
Meals on safari
Most safari itineraries use breakfast, packed or lodge lunch and dinner depending on the day’s programme. Dietary needs should be communicated early so lodges can plan properly, especially in remote areas.
Mix accommodation levels if useful
You do not need the same category every night. Some travellers prefer to spend more on a special gorilla lodge or private wildlife property and use simpler accommodation on transit nights.
