Birding happens everywhere
Uganda’s varied habitats mean you can notice birds on game drives, boat cruises, forest walks and even roadside stops. A general safari can include a surprising amount of birding without becoming a specialist expedition.
Tell your guide early
If birds interest you, say so at the planning stage. The route can include better wetland stops, more time around forest edges and slower game drives where small species are not overlooked.
Photography changes the pace
Bird photography benefits from patience. A few longer stops are often more productive than constantly chasing the next species.
