Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 – Shoebill Tracking at Mabamba Wetland
Pick-up from your hotel in Entebbe and transfer to Mabamba Wetland for an unforgettable shoebill-tracking experience. Take a local canoe through the papyrus channels in search of the rare shoebill and other wetland birds, accompanied by a local guide.
After the excursion, return to your accommodation in Entebbe for the night. Relax and prepare for the journey to southwestern Uganda the following morning.

Day 2 – Journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Begin the journey from Entebbe to southwestern Uganda after breakfast, travelling through Uganda’s beautiful countryside towards Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy views of rolling hills, rural communities and changing landscapes along the way, with suitable stops for refreshments and lunch.
Arrive at your lodge in the Bwindi area, where you can relax and prepare for the following day’s mountain gorilla trekking adventure. Your accommodation and meals will be arranged according to your confirmed safari package.

Day 3 – Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi
After an early breakfast, head to the designated gorilla trekking briefing point in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Meet the park rangers, go for briefing about the instructions and guidelines for the gorilla trek, later begin your guided trek through the forest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek may take several hours, depending on the location of the gorillas and the forest conditions.
Once you find the gorillas, spend up to one hour observing these remarkable primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax and reflect on this unforgettable wildlife encounter. Your guide will confirm the arrangements for the following day’s journey to Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4 – Lake Bunyonyi: Scenic Escape & Canoe Experience
After breakfast, leave Bwindi and travel to the beautiful shores of Lake Bunyonyi, renowned for its scenic islands and surrounding terraced hills. On arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy time to relax while taking in the peaceful lake views.
You can also choose an optional canoe or boat excursion to explore the lake and its islands, depending on your interests and the arrangements confirmed in your safari quotation. Enjoy a relaxing evening beside the lake before your return journey to Entebbe the following day.

Day 5 – Scenic Journey Back to Entebbe or Kampala
After breakfast, depart from Lake Bunyonyi and begin the return journey to Entebbe or Kampala. Travel through the scenic countryside of southwestern Uganda, passing rolling hills, rural communities and lively towns along the way. Suitable comfort stops and a lunch break can be arranged during the journey.
Depending on your interests and available time, you may request a stop at the Uganda Equator crossing in Kayabwe for photographs and a short visit. On arrival, your guide will drop you off at your agreed destination, bringing your five-day safari to an end.
